If you want to make more money and leverage your business to build wealth we’re here for you. This year, we want to focus on helping women get financially independent and achieve financial freedom. Here are 5 ways you can make money in 2023.

1. Work on Your Mindset

Yes, you want to make more money this year but have you fixed your mindset? Having a great mindset isn’t something you do once. You have to be constantly checking your mindset and what you’re saying to yourself every day.

Is what you’re thinking in alignment with your goals?

You’re saying, “Yes, I want to make more money. I want to be a millionaire.I want to build wealth.”

However, at the same time, your mind is keeping you stagnant. You’re also telling yourself you don’t deserve wealth or you’re not qualified.

You have to constantly change that narrative in your mind. You can do that by saying affirmations to yourself or finding a coach. Remember, you are worthy, you are deserving and you have to convince yourself of it every single day.

2. Get Uncomfortable

Oftentimes, achieving your goals is possible only if you leave your comfort zone. If you want to make more money in 2023, it’s time to get uncomfortable.

According to Array Behavioral Care, your comfort zone may be defined as, “a psychological state in which things feel familiar to a person and they are at ease and in control of their environment, experiencing low levels of anxiety and stress.”

The truth is nobody wants to be uncomfortable. People obviously prefer to be comfortable. However, not leaving your comfort zone is holding you back.

As a matter of fact, Array Behavioral Care says, “Risks are growth experiences, no matter the outcome. Settling for mediocrity is an incredibly high price to pay for the feeling of relative safety. Letting your comfort dictate your experience is no way to live.”

For example, last year we were told by many entrepreneurs that they don’t apply for grants because they were not comfortable getting on video. They let their unwillingness to get uncomfortable cost them thousands and thousands of dollars.

If you want change in your life and business, you have to get comfortable with getting uncomfortable.

Ask yourself, “What can I do differently this year than I did last year that will give me the results that I want?”

3. Focus on Sales

To make more money in 2023, you’ll have to focus on sales. This may seem obvious. However, in our conversations with various entrepreneurs, we realize they want to make money but they are focused on everything else besides getting the sale.

In our end-of-year celebration with our tribe members, one of them told us that she started an amazing new business. She said she needed more time to get so many things in place however, she was missing a plan to make money!

We realize that entrepreneurs focus so much on having a perfect website and social media platforms. Yes, it’s important to have a functional website and social media accounts that attract customers. However, your primary focus should be to make money in your business.

Ask yourself, “What problem do I solve? Who do you solve it for?” That “who” is your target customer. Knowing who your target audience is will help you grow faster and make more money.

After being clear on these questions, the next step is to make a sales plan. How much money do you want to make in your business? What income do you need to provide for your family or exit the full-time corporate job you hate? That’s the baseline number you need to make or your income goal. That will help you determine what products and services you offer and at what price.

Once you know how much money you need, you need to start actively selling. You have to let people know what you’re selling or you won’t make any sales.

4. Get Multiple Income Streams

This does not mean getting another job or starting another business. However, if you want financial independence or freedom, you’ll need to make sure you’re getting income from different places.

Specifically, we recommended multiple streams of passive income. That way you’re not tying your time directly to your income and you can make money while you sleep. The truth is, there is some amount of work involved in establishing passive income streams. For example, if you’re publishing an ebook, you’ll have to write it and promote it. The alternative to that is paying someone to write the ebook and promote it on your social media platforms and to your email list.

However, the initial time investment into establishing passive income streams is worth it. In addition to that, the time investment doesn’t have to be major. One of our She Boss Tribe members wrote her ebook in ten days. We created one of our best-selling products in two days. You can make money over and over on something that you only had to create once. You can even make six figures from one product.

We’ve already covered in detail several income streams you can establish as an entrepreneur. Here are some of our best resources:

5. Get Serious About Branding

What do you want to be known for?

Whatever that is, you have to take action to make that happen. You have to be intentional about your branding.

She Boss Talk is a recognized and memorable brand because we are intentional about our branding. We even wear clothes with our branding.

That’s actually something we want to encourage you to do; support your own brand. If you sell products, use them. If you sell clothes wear them. You have to support yourself.

In addition to that, make sure your branding is consistent across social media platforms, and your website. Your brand cannot look four different ways on four different platforms.

One way you can do that is by using the same two or three colors. You should also make sure the colors you use makes sense for your business.

Did you know that the colors you choose for your brand matter? According to 99 designs, “your brand colors have the ability to impact your sales or performance even more than the products you offer.”

99 Designs also listed colors and what they may represent to your customers:

  • Red- Passion, excitement, and anger
  • Yellow- Youth, optimism, and happiness
  • Orange- Playfulness, vitality, and friendliness
  • Green- Stability, prosperity, growth, and a connection to nature
  • Light Blue- Tranquility, trust, openness, and innocence
  • Purple- Royalty, creativity, and luxury
  • Pink- Femininity, youth, and innocence
  • Dark blue- Professionalism, security, formality, maturity, and trustworthy
